Parable (artist's collection)
found object assemblage with antique photographs; 17x22”; I came across a wonderful little story somewhere about a lonely old woman who was dying and the busy Irish mother who took the time to go sit with her. The story is incorporated into the piece along with antique photographs and early 20th century artifacts. There are doors to open and flaps to lift, all of it working together to suggest possibilities for the lives of the two women in the story.
From the story:
“...and her warm, Irish heart could not resist.
'Sure and I'll come,' she said, 'and I'll do the best I can.'”
